Nurtured by time and molded by principle, the humanitarian solon from Cagdianao evolves like a sparkling diamond with multi-faceted approaches of services rendered to the people of Dinagat Islands.
Board Member Reggivi Amor E. Alcaria, RN, MAN is a daughter of spouses Bernardino F. Alcaria, Jr. and Lilibeth P. Ecleo. Her father is a former Provincial Board Member and a well-known author of Provincial Ordinance No. 03 Series of 2013 “An Ordinance Declaring Ruben Edera Ecleo, Sr. as the Local Hero of the Province of Dinagat Islands”, and her mother is a public teacher, and a scion from the Ecleo ancestry.
A nurse by profession and mandated by law to provide health services, Board Amor has that benevolence to spare her time, money and effort to voluntarily extend services to people in need.
She worked as a Public Health Nurse at Rural Health Unit in San Jose from 2011 to 2015, and deployed in barangays of Sta. Cruz, Wilson, Cuarinta, Luna and Mahayahay. She conducted monthly immunization to children and senior citizens and so with Mother’s class to pregnant and lactating mothers.
Her principle of good health and quality life begins with a strong and healthy family, she advocated Family Planning Counselling. She also conducted home visits to bedridden patients.
After the political sojourn of his father in the Sanggguniang Panlalawigan, in 2016 presidential election, Amor at her young age and a neophyte, file her candidacy for sangguniangpanlalawigan member in district 2 via political affiliation.
She won in the election and recognized by the 4th Sangguniang Panlalawigan as senior board member garnering the highest votes among her peers. She holds position as Chairperson on the Committee on Health and Sanitation, Committee on Public Works, Utilities, Communication and Transportation.
A young and vibrant legislator authored numerous ordinances and resolutions in the fourth sangguniang Panlalawigan. She authored ordinance to increase honorarium of Barangay Health Workers (BHW), and Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Barangay Population Volunteer (BPV) from 300 to 500 pesos per month; ordinance to provide overtime pay to doctors in 3 district hospitals and Provincial Health Office.
Referral of patients to Caraga Regional Hospital and other sophisticated hospital in Surigao and other big cities is quite burdensome to district hospitals considering sea hazards in transporting patients. Board Member Amor authored resolution requesting the Department of Health to provide sea ambulance to 3 district hospitals.
She also authored ordinance declaring every May 10 of every year as Arbor Day of the Province of Dinagat Islands. Another ordinance providing honorarium to LGBTQ+ focal persons, and Sanitation Code of the Province of Dinagat Islands she authored.
She loved to get in touch with people, Board Member Amor provided medical and burial assistance. At her own accord, she conducted Medical Mission and Operation Tuli in Barangay Mabini, Cagdianao.
On her second term in the August Chamber in 2019 to date, Board Member Alcaria spearheaded the chair in the Committee on Health and Sanitation, and Committee on Environmental Protection and Ecology where she authored ordinance prohibiting the use of plastics.
She conducted Dental Mission in Villa Alcaria Elementary School, Cagdianao, conducted tree planting activity and initiated monthly Coastal Clean-up at Hinabyan, del Pilar, Cagdianao and at Sangay, Loreto.
Recently, Covid-19 Pandemic tremored the world, Board Member Amor initiated egg distribution, rice distribution, vegetable distribution and face mask distribution.
In 2016 to 2019, she became a 4L Dinagat Chapter President and PBMLP Caraga Region Secretary from 2019 to date.
