The Legislative Steward
Board Member Ali P. Adlawan, the Chairperson on the Committee on Agriculture, is a seasoned legislative steward since the inception of his political journey when he was catapulted by a majority vote as SK Federated President and Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Loreto in 1992 to 2002.
Abreast with high-spirited willpower, a youthful politician surmounted a paradigm shift of development and banged the gavel of authority being the Barangay Captain of Sta. Cruz, Loreto in 2002 to 2007.
His legislative prowess was gradually flourished sponsoring numerous legislations being a member of the legislative body of the Sangguniang Bayan of Loreto in three consecutive terms from 2007 to 2016.
A popular young legislator from Loreto soars high in the legislative chamber of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in 2019 local election in the First District of Dinagat Islands.
A year experience being a legislative steward in the 5th Sangguniang Panlalawigan induces his willpower to bag development opportunities among Dinagatnons from the national government especially the Department of Agriculture.
He sponsored ordinance requiring all establishments that engage in food business to provide free potable water to their customers in the Province of Dinagat Islands; and an ordinance creating theProvincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and Providing for Its Tasks, Functions, Personnel and Appropriation Thereof and For Other Purposes.
Board Member Adlawan in his advocacy to support business and agricultural production has passed legislations requesting the Regional Office of the Department of Agriculture through the Office of Abel James I. Monteagudo, Regional Executive Director Caraga Region Capitol Site, Butuan City, to facilitate ocular inspection and or actual survey in Dinagat Islands for the propose acquisition of Solar Powered Irrigation System (SPIS).
He also passed resolution respectfully requesting the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Central Office, thru Director Commodore Eduardo B. Gongona, Undersecretary for Fisheries and BFAR National Director, to kindly provide two thousand (2,000) units motorized fishing banca made of fiber glass intended for the fisherfolk associations of the seven municipalities of the Province of Dinagat Islands.”
